1. Overview
IntakeBella offers SMS-based notifications and intake communications as part of its pharmacy intake workflow platform. This policy governs all SMS messages sent through IntakeBella on behalf of our customers (specialty and compounding pharmacies).
2. Consent
All SMS communications require prior written or electronic consent from the recipient. IntakeBella customers are responsible for obtaining consent from their patients and referral sources before enabling SMS notifications through the platform.
- Consent is obtained at the point of intake or patient registration
- Opt-in records are stored and auditable
- Double opt-in is recommended for marketing-related messages
3. Message Types
- Transactional: Intake status updates, prescription notifications, prior authorization updates, benefits verification results
- Operational: Appointment reminders, document request notifications, form completion reminders
IntakeBella does not send promotional or marketing SMS messages.
4. Frequency
Message frequency varies based on intake activity. Typical patients may receive 1-5 messages per intake cycle. Pharmacies can configure message frequency limits per patient in their IntakeBella dashboard.
5. Opt-Out
Recipients can opt out of SMS communications at any time by replying STOP to any IntakeBella SMS message. Opt-out requests are processed immediately. Pharmacies can also disable SMS for individual patients through the dashboard.
6. Data Protection
SMS messages containing Protected Health Information (PHI) are handled in accordance with HIPAA requirements. IntakeBella does not include detailed medical information in SMS messages. Messages contain only general status updates and links to secure portals for full details.
7. Carrier Compliance
IntakeBella SMS services are delivered via 10DLC-registered local phone numbers in compliance with carrier requirements (A2P 10DLC registration). All messages include required carrier disclosures and opt-out instructions.
